Access to Rabbit Beach - 2025

In implementation of the Decree of the Regional Councilor for Territory and Environment no. 508/2015, of the Authorization of the Regional Councilor for Territory and Environment prot. 31859/2025, of the Determination of the Management Body no. 1/rn/lam/2025

Due to its small size and the presence of areas at risk of hydrogeological hazards, Rabbit Beach can accommodate a limited number of people.

Therefore, in order to protect the environment and the sea turtle breeding site, ensure a respectful experience of use and improve the offer of services, from 9 June to 12 October 2025 access to the beach will be limited and in two shifts (morning 8.30-13.30, afternoon 14.30-19.30), for a maximum number of 550 people per shift, of which 435 can be booked online.

From the second half of May, visits can be booked for the period 9 June - 2 August.

From the first week of July, visits can be booked for the period 3 August - 12 October.

Online booking and beach access methods:
  • It is possible to book for only one shift per day (8.30-13.30 or 14.30-19.30).
  • Each booking can include a maximum of 2 people.
  • It is possible to book only once a week (the week runs from Sunday to Saturday).
  • At the end of each shift (1.30 pm for the morning and 7.30 pm for the afternoon) visitors present on the beach must leave the premises and exit the Reserve.
  • Those who have booked online must access the Reserve by 9.30 am for the morning shift and by 3.30 pm for the afternoon shift, under penalty of forfeiture of the reservation.
  • In addition to the bookable places, an additional 80 places are available per shift via an entry list, by going directly to the Reserve entrance from 8.30 am for the morning shift and from 2.30 pm for the afternoon shift.
  • Children up to 6 years of age and people with disabilities who use the sea escort service of the Marine Protected Area will be able to access without a reservation.
  • 35 places per shift, without the need for a reservation, are intended for residents of the Municipality of Lampedusa and Linosa and similar (domiciled for work reasons).
You should also know that:
  • You can reach the Spiaggia dei Conigli by walking along a path of about 800 meters: wear footwear suitable for walking on rocky and slippery surfaces (no flip-flops, heels, wedges or similar).
  • Access is not recommended for people with mobility and/or balance difficulties, heart or respiratory problems, asthmatics or at risk of allergies (due to pollen and/or insect bites).
  • There are no lifeguard services, medical assistance, refreshment points, toilets or water points in the Nature Reserve.

Good rules for using the beaches in the “Isola di Lampedusa” Nature Reserve

The beaches within the “Isola di Lampedusa” Nature Reserve are not bathing establishments but natural environments of exceptional environmental value. To ensure proper use, the following rules of conduct must be respected:

  1. Respect the times of use. At the end of each time slot (1:30 p.m. in the morning and 7:30 p.m. in the afternoon), visitors on the beach must leave the area and exit the Reserve.
  2. Remain in the portion of the beach where use is permitted. Do not occupy the prohibited areas marked off by fences and signs.
  3. Keep quiet out of respect for nature and other visitors; the use of sound equipment (except with headphones), playing football or rackets or similar, or making noise are not permitted.
  4. It is not permitted to use chairs, deckchairs, sun loungers, awnings, inflatables and similar on the beach. Only the use of beach umbrellas and beach towels is permitted.
  5. Dogs are not permitted because they can cause damage to wildlife; guide dogs for the blind are excluded.
  6. Smoking is not permitted on the beach.
  7. Fishing and the introduction of any type of weapon or equipment for capture (underwater guns, nets, etc.) are prohibited.
  8. The use of drones is not permitted.
  9. Access by bicycle is not permitted.
  10. In some areas, classified as dangerous due to the risk of falling rocks, any prohibitions and behavioral rules indicated in the warning signs present in the places must be respected.
